1. Love - Love is what keeps you going, it comforts you in the roughest times. Even when it gets rough, your partners love will comfort you.
2. Romance - Romance adds the butterflies in the stomach, it makes you smile, it brings you back to that first date feeling.
3. Respect - If two people don’t respect each other, co-existence is near impossible. You have to respect each other, in order to love each other.
4. Passion - Having passion in a relationship is like having sex without the intercourse. Without, there would be touch, but no feeling.
5. Empathy - Empathy is very important in a relationship. Lack of empathy would render the relationship an non understanding one.
6. Understanding - It is important to be able to understand each other. It is through understanding that a connection develops, and respect and love can be discovered.
7. Acceptance - If you are in a relationship with a person, you need to accept him/her for what he/she is.
8. Friendship - Basically, in a relationship, you need to be able to laugh at each other, cry with each other and yell at each other. Who better to do that than a best friend?
9. Commitment - You need to be committed to each other, and you need to be in it for the long run. Staying focused on each other will let you last longer.
